Chicago Board of Trade soyabean futures rose on Friday, supported by concerns about adverse crop weather in South America, traders said. A weaker-than-expected export sales report kept the gains in check. Soyameal futures also firmed but soyaoil weakened, pressured by end-of-week profit taking and technical selling. CBOT March soyaoil futures hit resistance near the 50-day moving average.

Export sales of soyabeans were 560,800 tonnes in the latest week, the US Agriculture Department said in a report. Analysts' forecasts had ranged from 600,000 to 1 million tonnes. For the week, the most-active soyabean futures contract rose 0.8 percent. CBOT soyameal and soyaoil futures were both up 1.4 percent this week.
